Most language schools carefully track enrollment. They monitor attendance, retention, course completion, student satisfaction, and sometimes progression from one CEFR level to the next. However, there is another metric that can influence all of them:
How often was the student placed correctly in the first place?
Placement testing is usually treated as something that happens before learning begins. A student takes a test, receives a level, joins a class, and the process moves on.

Are teachers frequently recommending that B1 students move to A2?
Does one particular level generate significantly more overrides?
Are Speaking weaknesses causing students with otherwise strong results to struggle?
Are certain campuses or programs experiencing more placement corrections than others?
Once teacher overrides become structured data rather than informal comments, they can reveal where the placement process needs attention.
Signal #3: Early Learner Performance
Transfers and overrides tell you when a placement is questioned. Early performance can tell you whether apparently successful placements are actually working.
Schools can examine indicators from the first few weeks of instruction, such as:

- Teacher evaluations
